Dianna Botello

The perfect Grace of God sustains me daily. I am a creative daughter of God in a life transition. I am listening carefully for and to the Holy Spirit. I’ve surrendered my life to Jesus Christ as God’s Peace is all encompassing as he heals my brokenness of loneliness and grieving for my late husband, Steve.

My greatest heartbreak has grown in me a deeper and more personal relationship to my Lord and Savior. I live each day in grandiose gratitude for God’s enormous Mercy on my life. I love to Praise and Worship my King Jesus. One of my favorite scriptures is Jeremiah 29:11 because when my husband Steve died, August 2019, I felt I had no purpose, no hope and a no-good future in this world without him. God has carried me all through my life, but when my husband died, God held me even closer, He is a Perfect Father.

I am Blessed, as the Holy Spirit led me to a Refreshing Winds Ministry Retreat in 2016. I believe it was to prepare me for such a time as this. I give God All the Glory. Thank You. Amen.

Kathy Horlander

I’ve been a member of the Refreshing Winds Ministries team for about 8 years. And in those 8 years it astonishes me how the Lord has “grown me up.” You see I was what I consider a “fence sitter,” that’s a person who is very comfortable just sitting on the fence watching. Not getting too involved in the church, just attending church on Sunday, a few bible studies along the way, but mostly just watching.

Then I was invited to attend a Refreshing Winds retreat and my fence watching days were over, but I didn’t know it just yet. I was watching alright, the whole weekend I was the last to leave every session…just watching! It seems that I was affected by everything, the teachings, the preaching, the music; all stirred some kind of emotion in me that I did not know existed. All the way home to Houston from the retreat I was asking questions of those in the car with me. Questions, I had so many questions. Why did some women laugh uncontrollable, why did some women raise their hands in joy and adoration, why? I believe that’s when I became teachable by the Lord. I was willing to search out the answers to my questions and that’s all the Lord need… a teachable spirit!

As in any kind of growth it’s a process. It did not happen overnight, but as I grew in “head knowledge” I was growing in the spirit as well. The Lord has given me many spiritual gifts along the way that are used to minister to the world, but this is not the end for I feel He is still “growing me up.” I know the Lord have more for me and He is just waiting for me to say Yes!

Labridget Lewis Mclean

I accepted Jesus in my heart at the young age of 7 years old. I went to College Hills Missionary Baptist in College Station. My pastor was Reverend M.H. Harris. He was a short man that stood only 5 feet tall. However, he was a giant in the Lord and intellectually. He would use big words that intrigue my mind on what they meant. As he would preach each Sunday morning, I felt this warmth over my face. I didn’t know what it was at the time and I was too scared to ask an adult. I just knew I enjoyed the feeling, so I went back with my grandmother to the Sunday program evening service. I went each time there was a program at 3:00 p.m. to feel that warmth.

The Holy Spirit began His chase after me from the time of my young childhood. After being in the world of selfishness, God called my name to return to his safety, His divine will. I answered the call in 1997 and the fun began. The capacity I currently serve in my church is a layman. I hear and receive the Word of God and if God leads me to minister or speak a word of knowledge to someone, I’m obedient and have the freedom to do so. I have had the opportunity to teach Sunday school in the adult class and, at times, Wednesday night services. I serve on committee that will be needed when needs arise in my church.

God called me to be a part of Refreshing Winds Ministries in 2006. I have enjoyed being a servant of the Lord. In 2014, I became a licensed and ordained minister of the Gospel. God allows me to preach the Word of God and teach as I continue to serve in both Refreshing Winds Ministries, Rehoboth Fellowship and my local church.

Angela ‘Angie’ Morgan

I rededicated my life to the Lord in 2004. But I didn’t begin to really discover the real ME that God created me to be until 2018, when I joined the Refreshing Winds Ministry, Inc team.

I am a member of Grace Church where I serve, with a passion, as Worship Leader. I am honored to serve under and be mentored to by some mighty women of God at Grace who are currently showing me how to lead Bible Study.

In February of 2020, I asked Abba Father, whom I affectionately call Papa, ‘What can I do to bring You glory?’ Wow! Did He ever rock my world! He had me write about my journey to spiritual healing from words that were spoken over me as a child; words that followed me into adulthood.

In the midst of writing this short book, Seek His Goodness  was birthed.

Partnering with Papa, I write and publish, onto my blog, those things that stir my fervent prayers and my passion for the things of the Lord.

In addition to writing, I also enjoy creating content for my Facebook page, Seek His Goodness. I am an avid arts and crafty kinda girl and I regularly explore different medias of art.

My life verse is Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Something else that is tremendously important to her is journaling, intercession, and meeting with close friends over a good cup of coffee.

She has served in the areas of music, teaching & intercession. She loves to use humor and has brought many skits to our yearly retreats. She joined Refreshing Winds in 2007 as a team member and was licensed and ordained through RWMI in January 2017.

Nancy Lawshae

I gave my heart to Jesus at five years old during a Baptist Church vacation Bible school. I didn’t know what it meant, but I wanted God to love me. I began a meaningful relationship with the Lord at about 16 years old and was baptized as an Episcopalian. How I loved the beauty and Holy reverence in our services. The adults had a week long retreat learning about the Holy Spirit. They invited the youth group to attend the closing service and the Glory came down. Everyone attending that service became spirit filled even though we didn’t really know what hit us. As the Lord’s love encircled our hearts and filled us to overflowing, we stood arm in arm swaying with the beautiful music in the weighty presence of the Lord. Never had I known such peace or felt so much joy and assurance I was not alone. Life has had its challenges and hurts and I suffered with suicidal depression on and off for over 30 years. Hallelujah! The Lord healed my depression as I learned about spiritual warfare and learned to take thoughts captive to Christ. My sweet Jesus set me free.
In recent years I was honored the Lord saw fit to ordain me as his minister and drew me toward prophetic worship. I am honored to be serving along side this amazing group of mighty women called Refreshing Wind Ministries.

She is also active in the Houston West Emmaus Community and Kairos Outside Houston, where she enjoys sharing her musical gifts, throwing in a little acoustic guitar as well. On Sundays you will find her joyfully ringing in the JuBellation Handbell Choir at her church.
Rhonda is currently licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Texas and Oklahoma, having been in the accounting profession for most of her working life. After being employed for many years in the corporate accounting world, she is now experiencing new adventures as a tax manager in the specialized field of bankruptcy taxation and forensic accounting.

“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.” Isaiah 40:11

I can say without a doubt that God, my Good Shepherd, has guided my path for my whole life. Even in those times when I wandered away, He never let me get too far. I am so grateful for the people that He has put in my life (a good friend calls them “divine appointments”) to help me know Him better and follow Him more closely. It is a huge privilege for me to be able to worship with the Beacons, who always encourage and point me to Him. I am blessed to be married to Rob and have two amazing daughters. Professionally, I work in the mission’s office of a church in Houston. I also get to serve the Lord with the Houston West Emmaus Community, Kairos Outside, and with my church, St. John Lutheran.
Music has always been an important part of my life. As a child, my family had a piano. I think I started taking lessons as soon as I could sit on the bench and reach the keys. As I grew, music had a way of reaching a part of my spirit that nothing else could. A tune could mirror exactly what I was feeling inside! I learned to play other instruments and eventually sang in the youth choir at church. This was the beginning of my love of corporate worship. I saw how a lyric from a song could reveal another aspect of Jesus’ intimate love for us. Today, worship music has a way of preparing and posturing my heart to welcome the presence of God in and around me, wherever I am. Every song is an invitation to enter into His presence; to abide; to rest; to be healed; to rejoice. And friend, that invitation is for you!

The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.
