Glenn & Betty Wenzel

Betty Wenzel and her beloved husband Glenn co-founded Refreshing Winds Ministries, Inc. along with longtime friends Regina and Bill Henderson. Although Glenn has reached his eternal resting place with Jesus, Betty remains on the Board of Directors.
Betty first came to know Jesus as a nine-year-old, during Vacation Bible School. She understood that God loved her so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus to Calvary to suffer the cross and death to pay the debt she owed for her sins. The law required death to be the only acceptable form of payment for mankind’s sins. Betty had a difficult childhood and to feel the love that God freely gave her made life worth living. Understanding the gift of salvation that Jesus provided, caused her to want to serve Him in any capacity she could.
Betty has served in most areas of ministry available in the local church from Cleaning Committee, to teacher, Women’s Leader, Children’s Church Director , Assoc. Pastor and Pastor. She currently serves as Assoc. Pastor at Grace Church in Cameron, Tx.
God gave her a beautiful vision of how He wanted her to serve and encourage other Christian Women. She has dedicated the last 35 years to doing that. She has a huge burden for Pastors, Pastors Wives and their families.
Betty is currently serving as an Advisor and Board Member of Refreshing Winds Ministries, Inc.

Glenda Hays

Glenda has been married to her loving Christian husband, Lester, since 1973. They have four wonderful children (one is in Heaven) and six beautiful grandchildren. Glenda and Lester took on to raise their youngest grandson, Clint, in July of 2005, when he was twenty months old.

Glenda is a PK (preacher’s kid) and the youngest of ten siblings. Her father, Rev. H.M. Bowley served as pastor of Cameron Gospel Tabernacle for over forty-five years. Her mother, Ruth Victoria Bowley, was his biggest supporter and a loving devoted mother. Glenda was born and raised in Cameron, Texas and had been going to this church since she was born until she got married at the age of 18 and moved away for two years then she and Lester moved back in 1975. In 2002, C.G.T. was relocated in Cameron and renamed New Beginning’s Full Gospel Tabernacle where Glenda continues to serve and worship. Glenda started serving as church secretary in the old church and continued in the new church for over ten years until she and Lester took custody of Clint then quit to devote her time to raising him.

Glenda has been very active in her church serving in several functions that she has done in the past and some of which she is still doing, such as the Nursery, Children’s Church, Co-Youth leader, Music Ministry, Intercessor, Decorations and Helps Ministry. In 2018 Glenda took over a ministry that was already started in the church called “Christmas in July”, which was like a mini conference, held every July. It lasted another couple of years and then God lead her in a different direction. She felt lead to start a ministry called “God’s Women” where it was more for the encouragement of the women in the church and the community. It has been a blessing for the ladies. She is waiting to hear where else God will lead her next.

Labridget Lewis Mclean

I accepted Jesus in my heart at the young age of 7 years old. I went to College Hills Missionary Baptist in College Station. My pastor was Reverend M.H. Harris. He was a short man that stood only 5 feet tall. However, he was a giant in the Lord and intellectually. He would use big words that intrigue my mind on what they meant. As he would preach each Sunday morning, I felt this warmth over my face. I didn’t know what it was at the time and I was too scared to ask an adult. I just knew I enjoyed the feeling, so I went back with my grandmother to the Sunday program evening service. I went each time there was a program at 3:00 p.m. to feel that warmth.

The Holy Spirit began His chase after me from the time of my young childhood. After being in the world of selfishness, God called my name to return to his safety, His divine will. I answered the call in 1997 and the fun began. The capacity I currently serve in my church is a layman. I hear and receive the Word of God and if God leads me to minister or speak a word of knowledge to someone, I’m obedient and have the freedom to do so. I have had the opportunity to teach Sunday school in the adult class and, at times, Wednesday night services. I serve on committee that will be needed when needs arise in my church.

God called me to be a part of Refreshing Winds Ministries in 2006. I have enjoyed being a servant of the Lord. In 2014, I became a licensed and ordained minister of the Gospel. God allows me to preach the Word of God and teach as I continue to serve in Refreshing Winds Ministries, my local church and other ministries.

Angela ‘Angie’ Morgan

Happily married to my High School sweetheart, Larry. Blessed to be mom to a daughter, Amanda, and son, Brian. Gigi to 2 beautiful grandchildren, Taylor and Caleb.
After rededicating my life to the Lord in 2004, I entered a season of profound transformation that reshaped both my life and ministry. In 2020, I asked Abba Father a simple question: “Papa, what can I do to bring You glory?” His answer led me to write about the healing He brought to soul wounds that I had carried deep inside since childhood. That journey of surrender and restoration gave birth to Seek His Goodness, a ministry devoted to pointing others toward the Father’s heart.
This journey has given me a heart to see women be transformed by the presence of God and awakened to the truth of who they are in Christ. I believe that lasting freedom is found not in striving to become someone new, but in discovering the woman the Father has known from the very beginning.

I believe that God is still speaking, still healing, still restoring, and still calling His sons and daughters into the fullness of their Kingdom identity. My greatest joy is walking alongside others as they discover that truth for themselves.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11

Barbara Murray

Barbara is a Wife, Mother & Nana. She and her husband, Drew, reside in a community south of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. Though raised as a young child in the Church as the fourth of seven children, she began to understand more about a personal relationship during her teenage years in high school. The adventure of finding the love and acceptance of our kind and loving heavenly Father has led her to want to share her passion about how she found a fulfilling life of abundant living through her journey of faith. When she’s not volunteering in the Women’s Ministry or a non-profit in her City, you can find her with her gloves on, in her flower beds, or in her kitchen whipping up something delicious for her family. She loves to read the newest favorite book that comes across her path. Something else that is tremendously important to her is journaling, intercession, and meeting with close friends over a good cup of coffee.

She has served in the areas of music, teaching & intercession. She loves to use humor and has brought many skits to our yearly retreats. She joined Refreshing Winds in 2007 as a team member and was licensed and ordained through RWMI in January 2017.

Lisa Newburn

At age 10, Lisa invited Jesus into her heart and knew she had been changed forever into “a new creation in Christ Jesus.” She grew in the Lord and longed to serve Him with all her heart, but twists and turns occurred in her early 20s that caused her to become a prodigal daughter. She started seeking the Lord again in her later 20s but it wasn’t until a supernatural encounter with Jesus in 1996 that she started walking in new levels of freedom and victory. This girl was on fire and she never looked back!
Lisa has been a member of Refreshing Winds Ministries, Inc. (RWMI) since 2005, was licensed and ordained by RWMI in September 2018 and became a CORE member of RWMI in 2024. Lisa is a worship leader/psalmist-songwriter and has been blessed to lead a Christian band named The Beacons, since 2005, who have served as the worship team for the RWMI retreats.
Lisa is also active in the Houston Emmaus Community, Kairos Outside Houston and Texas Apostolic Prayer Network. She attended Victory School of Supernatural Ministry from 2018-2019 and Kingdom University in 2022. She flows in the gifts of prophetic worship, teaching, and prophetic intercession. She has also led women’s bible studies and prayer groups over the years, including workplace bible studies, with the desire to encourage and teach others to seek the heart of God and grow into a more intimate relationship with Him. Her heart is to live a lifestyle of worship, and through the gifts the Lord has given her, to minister the grace and truth of Jesus Christ to a hurting world - to be an instrument the Lord uses to heal and set captives free.
Lisa currently resides in Columbus, Texas. She and her husband Brad, who always keeps her laughing, have been married since 1989.

Dianna Botello

The perfect grace of God sustains me each day. I am a creative daughter of God, living in a life of continual transformation. I listen carefully and strive to obey the Holy Spirit which lives in me. I have to consciously surrender my life to Jesus Christ daily because I sometimes forget for a moment that he’s in control, not me. I have to remind myself to Be Still. It is then, that God’s Peace is all encompassing.
I live each day in grandiose gratitude for my Savior’s unmeasurable Mercy on my life.
I get excited when I praise and worship my King Jesus.
I have several favorite scriptures: Jeremiah 29:11 promises God has a “Plan for my future and a hope.”
Isaiah 58:8, “Then your Light will breakforth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear. Then your righteousness will go before you, and the Glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.”
Isaiah 43:18, Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.”
Isaiah 43:19, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

I have always been blessed throughout the many challenges in my life.
I am forever grateful I was led to a Refreshing Winds Ministry Retreat in 2016. I joined the team in 2022.
I am a believer in Miracles, as I am one.
I give All the Glory to my Mighty King of Kings, my Jesus, my Lord, my savior.
Amen and Amen!

She plays a variety of instruments—including guitar, bass, mandolin, drums, and percussion—and is a talented singer/songwriter. Her heart for ministry, along with her love for connecting with others and serving God, drives every aspect of her work and life.

Salome Garcia

Salome Garcia accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior during October 2000. Salome has said she is so thankful her Lord Jesus has allowed her to know Him more every single day. Jesus has clearly blessed Salome with the spiritual gifts of Service and Administration along with many other companion giftings that magnify her ability to glorify Christ. Jesus opened doors for her service in the workplace, her community, her church and everywhere he calls her to serve. Refreshing Winds was blessed with her joining the team in 2009 and we haven’t been the same since. Her joy and gratitude to Jesus for saving her is expressed throughout our ministry. It is so fun to see Salome’s natural gifts for decorating and design, cooking and loving the young has blossomed into a mature, anointed minister who clearly hears her Lord speak His love to her and through her.

Kathy Horlander

I’ve been a member of the Refreshing Winds Ministries team since 2009. And in that time it astonishes me how the Lord has “grown me up.” You see I was what I consider a “fence sitter,” that’s a person who is very comfortable just sitting on the fence watching. Not getting too involved in the church, just attending church on Sunday, a few bible studies along the way, but mostly just watching.

Then I was invited to attend a Refreshing Winds retreat and my fence watching days were over, but I didn’t know it just yet. I was watching alright, the whole weekend I was the last to leave every session…just watching! It seems that I was affected by everything, the teachings, the preaching, the music; all stirred some kind of emotion in me that I did not know existed. All the way home to Houston from the retreat I was asking questions of those in the car with me. Questions, I had so many questions. Why did some women laugh uncontrollable, why did some women raise their hands in joy and adoration, why? I believe that’s when I became teachable by the Lord. I was willing to search out the answers to my questions and that’s all the Lord need’s… a teachable spirit!

As in any kind of growth it’s a process. It did not happen overnight, but as I grew in “head knowledge” I was growing in the spirit as well. The Lord has given me many spiritual gifts along the way that are used to minister to the world. But this is not the end for I feel He is still “growing me up.” I know the Lord has more for me and He is just waiting for me to say Yes!"

Karen Jeske

I was saved and baptized as a child in a Missionary Baptist Church south of New Orleans, LA. My chaotic home life however, left me questioning my salvation for years.
My family moved to Texas when I was 13.
I married Scott Jeske, Nov. 1994.
In 2000, I became a stay-at-home mom with the birth of my son.
In 2003 my daughter was born. I struggled with my roles both as a wife and a mother.
In 2006, on my 38th birthday at a Joyce Meyer conference, I got baptized in the Holy Ghost and received my heavenly prayer language. This brought me a renewed assurance of my salvation and power to break free from past bondages.
In 2009 I attended my first Refreshing Winds Ministry retreat where I experienced a deep love of Abba father. This started me on my journey of greater transformation through the teachings, worship and prayer ministries.
In 2010 two of my nieces came to live with us and I became a mother of four children ages 7 to 10. Attending annual retreats became an essential time of spiritual renewal for over 15 years.
Now as an empty nester, I’ve joined the team to help refresh others just as I have been refreshed.

I have a plaque in my home that reads, “Jesus loves me, this I love.”
Now that I’m in my senior - senior years, I marvel at how there continues to be so much more to discover about the love of Christ. The Holy Spirit has opened pathways for me to transform as I become more like Jesus. My transformation is more than changes in behaviors but, in my attitudes, healthy thinking and my faith focus purposely targeted on Jesus.

Like many others, my faith walk has been as the song title says, “A hard-fought, hard-won Hallelujah!” The years I battled with chronic depression became my Hallelujah once I was focused on taking negative seed thoughts in obedience to the cross of Christ. In joining the ladies of Refreshing Winds, I learned to accept their love and be challenged to grow deeper in Christ. And joyfully, I am growing deeper still.

Worshiping has been a huge factor in learning to hear the voice of Jesus and receiving prophetic songs to share. It’s my heart to be used to open up holy doors inviting others to experience this wonderful weighty peaceful presence of Our Lord. The Glorious Presence of the Lord is like no other pleasure.

In recent years I became an ordained minister. I am exploring this calling in the Kairos Outside ministry as a Spiritual Director (in training). Here I go again, transforming to what it means for me to be an ordained minister. Finally, I am honored to be serving with this amazing group of mighty women of God called Refreshing Wind Ministries. Their Christ love for me has healed my broken heart and helped me find the solid ground footing through their wisdom and faith in Christ.

My favorite Scripture is Romans 5:8 – NIV
“…God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

How can I not go deeper for this kind of sacrificial love in my life? Joy, Holy Joy!

Beacons

The Beacons, first consisting of Rhonda Fronk, Nancy Lawshae and Lisa Newburn were formed in 2005 after ministering together at a Refreshing Winds Retreat. A few years later, Carolyn Entricht joined the group and then in 2022 our youngster, Stacey Hanna, joined us making us the Fab 5. The Beacons are excellent musicians, songwriters and vocalists; but more than that they love to share the music the Lord has given them to steward and minister His heart to those who need healing and freedom. They worship in spirit and truth to bring heaven to earth, which includes flowing in prophetic worship with songs of healing and deliverance flowing from our Heavenly Father’s throne room.

The Beacons have made two CDs entitled “Reflections” and “Christmas Presence”, which contain many of the songs they have written. They have ministered at women’s retreats, nursing homes, church events, hospitals or wherever they have felt the call of the Lord. As they minister in song, they also share their testimonies and teachings. The theme scripture for The Beacons is Matthew 5:16: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in Heaven.

God, my Good Shepherd, has faithfully guided my life, even during times when I wandered. I’m grateful for the "divine appointments" He’s placed in my life to help me grow closer to Him. I’m blessed to be married to Rob, with two wonderful daughters, and to serve in the executive office of a church in Houston. I also volunteer with the Houston West Emmaus Community, Kairos Outside, and my church, St. John Lutheran.

Music has always been a significant part of my spiritual journey, from childhood piano lessons to singing in the youth choir. Worship music now helps prepare my heart to experience God's presence and healing, and every song feels like an invitation to abide in His love.

The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.
