WHO GOD SAYS YOU ARE

Who God Says You Are

By Angela “Angie” Morgan

I recently had a friend tell me that God could never forgive her for what she has done in her past. And that she could never be good enough to be forgiven.

She knows the Lord. I believe she is a believer in the things of God. But I also believe that the devil, our enemy, has been whispering lies to her all her life. That’s what he does. And if we continue to listen to those lies and do not respond with God’s Word about who we are, then, those lies eventually begin to become a part of our identity. We accept those lies as the truth. And then, we mistakenly begin to believe it is what God thinks about us too.

So, who are you? Who does God say you are?

First off, my friend, you are:

•FORGIVEN
“But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. (1 John 1:9 NLT, New Living Translation)

•CHOSEN
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;” 1 Peter 2:9 NASB2020

•MADE FOR A PURPOSE
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”
Ephesians 2:10 NASB2020

•A PRECIOUS CHILD OF GOD
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name,” John 1:12 NASB2020

•LOVED FOREVER
“I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore I have drawn you out with kindness.” Jeremiah 31:3 NASB 2020

My friend, if you have confessed your sins and declared Jesus as Lord of your life, then, you have been saved. He remembers your sins no more. And just like he showed mercy and forgiveness to the Israelites, He gives mercy and forgiveness to us.

“I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins.” Isaiah 43:25 NKJV

“He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.” Psalm 103:12 NLT

When Jesus died on the cross, he died for ALL sin. Yours and mine.
God counted YOU worthy enough to send His Son to die in your place. To believe his death wasn’t enough to pay for your sins is a lie from the enemy!

It’s time to shut down the voice of the accuser.

Father, I thank you for sending your son, Jesus, to die on the cross for my sins. I thank you, Lord, for your Word that speaks the truth about who I am in Christ. And as I read your Holy Bible, it guides me onto the path of righteousness.
I decree that the mouth of satan is shut off and cut off from reaching my spirit and my ears.
I thank you for your unending grace toward me. I don’t deserve it but I will certainly receive it as a gift from you. It is freely given to me, not because of who I am or what works I do, but because it is who YOU are.
Thank you for your forgiveness and your mercy. In Jesus name, amen.

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9 NIV

JESUS IS LORD

“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.” Ephesians 2:8-9 NLT
