STACEY HANNA

“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.” Isaiah 40:11

I can say without a doubt that God, my Good Shepherd, has guided my path for my whole life. Even in those times when I wandered away, He never let me get too far. I am so grateful for the people that He has put in my life (a good friend calls them “divine appointments”) to help me know Him better and follow Him more closely. It is a huge privilege for me to be able to worship with the Beacons, who always encourage and point me to Him. I am blessed to be married to Rob and have two amazing daughters. Professionally, I work in the missions office of a church in Houston. I also get to serve the Lord with the Houston West Emmaus Community, Kairos Outside, and with my church, St. John Lutheran.

Music has always been an important part of my life. As a child, my family had a piano. I think I started taking lessons as soon as I could sit on the bench and reach the keys. As I grew, music had a way of reaching a part of my spirit that nothing else could. A tune could mirror exactly what I was feeling inside! I learned to play other instruments and eventually sang in the youth choir at church. This was the beginning of my love of corporate worship. I saw how a lyric from a song could reveal another aspect of Jesus’ intimate love for us. Today, worship music has a way of preparing and posturing my heart to welcome the presence of God in and around me, wherever I am. Every song is an invitation to enter into His presence; to abide; to rest; to be healed; to rejoice. And friend, that invitation is for you!

The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.

Revelation 22:17
